The menus section (menus management) let you
to add, edit and delete items in the main menu bar of your
website, you can insert some different type of menu bar
items.
The main menu bar its placed in the top of your website
and lets the visitors to navigate through the website pages.
From menus section you can also create secondary menus (to
insert in a panel) and dropdown menus,
with this system you can create complex menus with N
levels of submenus.
An example of main menu bar its showed in picture 1, here
you can see a main menu bar with four items.

To enter in the menus section click the "Menus management"
icon from control panel and the list
of all menus, main menu included, will be shown (see picture
2).

From menus list the first listed menu is the main
menu, all the items in this menu will appear in the main menu bar
(see picture 1). You can see also the others (secondary menus).
From the list the first icon on the left show if a menu is the main
or secondary menu, the second icon show if a menu is linked as dropdown
menu by a menu item, you can click this icon to see/edit the item.
You can click on the icons in the right to add a new item in an
existing menu, the "Insert a new item in the menu" form
will appear (see picture 5), enable/disable a menu (main menu only)
or edit and delete an existing menu (secondary menus only). To create
a new menu click on "Add new menu", the add new menu form
will appear (see picture 3). You can see all the items for a menu
(picture 4) if you click on the menu title.

From picture 3 you can insert a new menu by filling
the fields and click on "Insert" to save the menu (fix
any errors if needed).

From menu items list you can click on the icons in the left to
move a menu item and change its position in the menu, you can click
on the icons in the right to enable/disable, edit or delete an existing
menu item. If a menu item links a dropdown menu you can show the
linked dropdown menu or you can also unlink it from the icon in
the left. To add a new menu item you must click on "Add an
item to this menu", the "Insert a new element in the menu"
form will appear (see picture 5).

From "Insert a new element in the menu" form you can
insert a new menu item by filling the follows fields:

From here you can select a menu to link
to the item as dropdown menu or you can select "No drop
down menu" for a normal menu item (without any dropdown
menu). |
Position |
The position of the menu bar items (from
left to right for main menu bar or up to down for secondary
and dropdown menus) in comparison to the other menu items, (the
menu item in position 1 will appear the first in the menu, the
menu item with position 2 for second and so one).
You can also modify the position of a menu item using the move
buttons in the menu items list or when you edit a menu item
(see picture 4). |
Item type |
There are some types of menu items: personalized, channel
block, home, administration, users login, external and void
link.
A personalized menu item its a menu item linked with
an existing page (see page section).
If you choose personalized as item type you must select the
page to link.
A channel block menu item its a menu item linked with
an existing subchannel blocks list (see channels section).
If you choose channel block as item type you must select the
subchannel to link.
The home menu item its a simple link to the website
home page.
An administration menu item its a simple link to the
website administrator area (see control
panel).
An users login menu item its a simple link to the website
users private area, the url to users private area its:
This is the default url for users private area, to change the
default url see advance configuration.
An external menu item its a menu item linked with an
external link (if you choose external as item type you must
specify the url to link and the target).
A void link menu item its a menu item without any link
(use it with menu item that link a dropdown menu).

This field represents the link of the menu
bar item, can be a page if item type its personalized, a subchannel
if item type its channel block or a url if item type its external. |

If unchecked the menu bar item its not visible. |
Language |
The menu bar item will shown only if the choosen
website language its the same of a selected language (for example
if you create a menu bar item with "Italian" language,
the menu bar item will shown only when a visitors choose "Italian"
as language for the website). |
After, click on "Insert" to save the menu item (fix any
errors if needed). |
